On March 15, 2012, I wrote the article, Shades of Y2K — Gary North’s bogus Apple prediction, about Gary North’s bogus October 11, 2011 prediction that:

Apple’s relentless descent to earth is inevitable. I can prove it in 15 words.”

“There is no one to follow him. There will never be another Steve Jobs at Apple.

In my March 15, 2012 article, I had wrote:

The closing price on Apple shares the day before his article was $388.81 USD per share.

As of March 15, 2012, in anticipation of the new iPad 3, Apple shares traded at over $600 per share — a 54% increase in just five months since his bogus prediction.

Now, on January 26, 2015, what had been a bogus prediction is now an outrageously stupid prediction, with Apple shares having traded on the previous Friday at $112.98, with a 7-1 stock split value of $790.86, a 103% increase over its October 2011 value.

Yet, Gary North continues to get paid subscribers and continues to get published on LewRockwell.com, showing that it’s not about ability, but consistent writing and being connected.

Flu shotThis October 22, 2013 Toronto Star article, in Canada’s largest newspaper, Flu shot lessens chance of heart attack, stroke, falsely implies that the flu shot lowers the risk of a heart attack, when it’s only a correlation from selected samples.

According to a study published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the chance of someone in their mid-60s suffering a major cardiac event such as a heart attack, stroke, heart failure or cardiac-related death are cut by 36 per cent if they have had a flu shot within the previous year.

And if they have already suffered a heart attack, their chances of suffering another major cardiac event within a year are 55 per cent lower if they get the vaccine.

So, despite the title, the study that is cited here doesn’t prove that taking the flu shot will lessen the chance of heart attacks. Apparently The Star and the study’s author would like to believe it is so, but they are still in the process of trying to come up with a study which we will likely never hear about, because it will almost certainly show it is NOT true. Correlation does not imply causation – it is just wishful thinking (and a timely propaganda piece to try and fool people into getting this shot; we always see them this time of year).

For more on the flu shot, see my article, If flu shots are so good, why do most Toronto health professionals not have them?

Gary Franchi and Mark DiceWith the publication of my article, What Gary Franchi’s 24/7 Next News Network won’t be covering, I presented 12 article links about what the fledgling network won’t be covering about Alex Jones.

Subsequent to that, I came across this November 2, 2012 Next News Network video report by Gary Franchi, wherein he interviews Mark Dice, who had recently come out swinging against Alex Jones in September.

This video is proof that either Gary Franchi isn’t keeping up with such important developments in the alternative media, that he doesn’t care, or is selective in his disdain for “infighting.”

From lewrockwell.com. Released under the GFDL ...Lew Rockwell regularly features Paul Craig Roberts’ commentary — so long as it fits his anti-state narrative. When it doesn’t, despite being meritorious, it doesn’t get included for very transparent reasons.

No surprise, then, that we don’t find this February 14, 2013 Paul Craig Roberts article, While Left and Right Fights — Power Wins, published by LewRockwell.com in the intervening days.

Here is the reason why Rockwell didn’t include it, since Roberts correctly identifies the fundamental problem being the concentration of power — not its location:

The right is correct that government power is the problem, and the left is correct that private power is the problem. Therefore, whether power is located within the government or private sectors cannot reduce, constrain, or minimize power.

Previously, I wrote the article, Did Lew Rockwell and the Daily Bell influence Michael Snyder to abandon his call for nationalizing the Federal Reserve?

Publish or perishIn academic circles, there’s the principle of “publish or perish,” meaning that academics have to regularly publish scholarly articles in order to keep their jobs, whether or not they are quality articles, and that, by implication, quantity is often more important than quality.

Austrian School economist, Dr. Gary North, demonstrates this principle.

His December 28, 2012 LewRockwell.com article, Retired Couple Turn Into World Traveling Nomads, is only 158 words, and looks like the work of a fifth-grader. Here is a sample of his “high-quality” writing:

I like my lifestyle. I spend most of my time in my basement office. I write. I read. I don’t go anywhere.

I would pay a lot of money not to travel. Fortunately, I don’t have to. I get to stay home for free.

My view of travel is simple: if you want to see the world, rent travel videos. Or watch YouTube.

So much for Lew Rockwell publishing North’s articles because they are all high-quality. I first suspected a problem with the quality of some of his articles in 2010 when he claimed that gold coins produced by U.S. and Canada aren’t money, despite being legal tender.

Gary North actually revealed to fellow Mises Institute associate, Dr. Walter Block, that he was even too busy to respond to Dr. Block’s serious questions, because he had to get nine articles a day out the door, as revealed in this June 7, 2012 LRC blog post:

“Walter you ignore the obvious: At zero price, my time is in greater demand than supply. I must pick & choose my responses, writing 9 articles a day (paid subscribers), and being in the final phase of updating my 31 volumes”

Gary North’s focus on quantity over quality is further evidenced by his 1000th LRC article, where he spent more time navel-gazing about his 1000th article than informing his readers of more pertinent information.

Anti-state? Oh, really?!

In my January 20, 2011 article, LewRockwell.com now pro-state? Oh Lew, say it’s not true!, I wrote about two pro-state articles published at LRC in one week alone.

The latest pro-state article to come from LRC is the January 10, 2013 article, Let’s Give Up on the (Unwritten) Constitution, where author Brion McClanahan wrote:

What the American political system needs is a good dose of federalism and decentralization and a return to the Constitution as ratified through the Tenth Amendment.

This from the site that claims it is “anti-state.” Indeed — much like how Fox News is “fair and balanced.”

The Ludwig von Mises Institute, which Lew Rockwell founded and heads, also hates government so much, they’re a government-sanctioned and regulated tax-exempt organization, and owned $4 million in U.S. Treasury Bonds in 2007 — yet none of these inconsistencies seem to matter to Mises devotees, as indicated by the replies to this post on mises.org.

Coast to Coast AM

So said Alex Jones on his October 6, 2011 broadcast when he interviewed George Noory (starting at 8:25).

Well, he is the second most listened to radio talk show host in the world. 16 million on terrestrial radio.

However, from the Coast to Coast AM website itself (emphasis mine):

Coast to Coast AM airs on more than 500 stations in the U.S., as well as Canada, Mexico and Guam, and is heard by nearly three million weekly listeners.

Surely Coast to Coast AM would get around to updating that page if their listener numbers were that much higher. The 16 million daily listeners number is off by at least a factor of 26.

For more on George Noory, see my article George Noory advocates the bankster gold standard, and The opening salvo of my public appeal to George Noory of Coast to Coast AM to cover the $300 billion AIDS scam.
