I was solicited to sign up for some “free” plan, three separate times, with a tricky new twist each time. The plan offered access to some forgettable service, for a certain time, at which point, if you don’t cancel, they start billing your credit card monthly.

It ended up costing me $4.99 USD — 5 times more than the teaser rate of $0.99, where I knew I would be stuck in voicemail hell, and arguing with the customer service person specially trained to sell me even more, rather than let me cancel.

  2. Partial zip/postal code information.
  3. An address with a zip/postal code for the wrong city.
