Lew RockwellFrom this January 25, 2014 New York Times hit piece against Rand Paul and Mises Institute associates, Lew Rockwell told a New York Times reporter who requested a tour of the Mises Institute campus that he’s “part of the regime“, yet Lew Rockwell himself is the Chairman of a government-sanctioned and government-regulated institution, the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt Ludwig von Mises Institute.

Despite the claim that tax money is better off in the hands of its donors, and the analogy given by Rockwell and other anarcho-capitalists that it is valid and even a moral duty for an individual to seek to pay as little taxes as possible, it doesn’t hold in the case of the Mises Institute, since it was created by Lew Rockwell and others voluntarily entering into an agreement with government, whereas individuals are being taxed on the basis of their very natural existence.

For a close examination of Lew Rockwell’s anti-state credentials, see my articles:

War chestAccording to the Ludwig von Mises Institute’s 2012 IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt filing, it reported a total of $22,268,915 in assets.

We see then, how the promotion of Austrian economics is big business, and why its associates and founder, Lew Rockwell, are limited in what positions they will take on certain issues.

For example, Lew Rockwell and Tom Woods, if they even bother addressing it, still promote the official government conspiracy theory that 19 Arab-Muslim hijackers pulled off 9/11, despite the evidence put forward by some brave, but few, true anarcho-capitalists like Nathan Fraser of Live Free FM, or Onebornfree.

It is for this reason that Anthony Migchels, a true monetary reformer, pointed out that the Truth Movement was co-opted by the End the Fed movement, led prominently by Austrian School supporters, and that Tom Woods, specifically, has been at the forefront, in claiming to be anti-government, yet steering clear of truly controversial issues that would affect their lucrative business operations.

For those who still don’t realize the significance of an organization whose ideology is anti-government specifically seeking government recognition and regulation, let me explain it.

It’s not, as someone said in another thread, comparable to an individual American doing anything he or she can to reduce his/her taxes.

Unlike the Mises Institute, the average American taxpayer is being directly taxed whether they consent or not.

The Mises Institute, on the other hand, specifically entered into a voluntary agreement with the very government its founder said is “far worse than the mafia”.

Another excuse is the red herring of which of us hasn’t taken government services, which again, fails to recognize the distinction between the acceptance of goods and services provided by force and coercion, and voluntarily entering into a legally-binding contract with government, thereby accepting its authority.

Yet, I expect most defenders of the Mises Institute not to see any problems with this, which is a reason why the Austrian School will continue to serve as controlled opposition.

On the February 10, 2013 episode of Exposing Faux Capitalism, I covered the following issues, among others:

Hour 1: Donald Fox: “Exposing the Nuclear Truth of 9/11″ [and other completely unrelated things],” Gary North demonstrates the principle of “publish or perish” and other articles. Hour 2: Jan Helfeld on wealth redistribution and taxes not voluntary.

Image of Lew RockwellLew Rockwell declared that government is “far worse than the mafia” in his August 14, 2012 interview on the Alex Jones Show.

Why, then, did Lew Rockwell, as founder and chairman of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, enter into a voluntary agreement with the very same entity he regards as far worse than the mafia in order for the Institute to receive 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status?

Many Mises devotees continue to not see a problem with an organization that supposedly hates government so much, begging government for special privileges in return for more regulations, even if it means more money in the hands of its financial recipients and supporters.

50-year veteran researcher of the New World Order, Dr. Stan Monteith gets it, in not seeking 501(c)(3) status for his ministry, “because we want to be able to tell you the truth.”

Find out by listening to my July 15, 2012 interview with Dennis Marker, author of Fifteen Steps to Corporate Feudalism: How the Rich Convinced America’s Middle Class to Eliminate Themselves, to see how Lew Rockwell is feeding right into the hands of the Corporate Feudalists in creating mistrust of, and disinterest in, government as an entity, and is furthering their Corporate Feudalist agenda.

If Lew Rockwell truly regards government as far worse than the mafia, why enter into a voluntary agreement with it? If putting less money into government’s hands is the justification, then why not move the organization to a tax-free country? Is it perhaps because the Mises Institute in fact benefits so much by being in the United States?

IRS officials in the United States have claimed that paying your personal income taxes is voluntary, as seen in Aaron Russo’s documentary, America: Freedom to Fascism.

While Canada’s tax collection agency, the Canada Revenue Agency, is considered to be more reasonable than the IRS, as evidenced, for example, by the ability to anonymously settle taxes in arrears, there is this August 20, 2012 Canadian Press article, Canada looking to collect on millions in unpaid fines, which states:

The federal government currently has several options to collect outstanding fines. They include negotiating a payment schedule with the debtor, seizing assets or garnishing wages, setting off the debt against any income tax refunds and sales tax credits, suspending or denying federal licences and permits, or — as a last resort — sending a debtor to jail.

Around 150 people were jailed between April 2010 and March 2011 for refusing to pay their fines, the annual report notes.

Therefore, I don’t feel bad for my strong words when a canvasser for Plan Canada was no longer interested in making her pitch to me after I had pointed out why I won’t knowingly donate money to any organization that directly participates in the AIDS scam, because of thugs like Robert Gallo and Anthony Fauci sitting on their taxpayer-funded perches and having their agents forcibly extract money for their scam ultimately at the literal barrel of a gun if you refuse to pay any part of the $300 billion in federal AIDS funding to date.

There is, however, a distinction between voluntary and involuntary taxes, and their propriety, as I pointed out in my article, The “taxation is theft” blowhards.
